CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH IDEAS, INFORMATION, AND INNOVATIVE SERVICES
Marathon Public Library
Marathon Public Library is the heart of the community where all come to learn, connect, and create. At the heart of this mission is our commitment to engage our residents and visitors to the Big Bend region with access to information and programs which provide greater insight into ourselves and to the world around us. The outcome is a citizenry with critical thinking, writing, communications, and problem-solving skills; creativity and empathy; and a greater understanding of and appreciation for the past and the present in order to better embrace the future.
We offer a variety of educational programs for children and adults; serve as the only digital access point in our community; and promote literacy and learning through our diverse collection of books. We are the smallest accredited library in the state of Texas. Through positive experiences with our services and programs, our Library has become the gathering place in our community. Parents and teachers describe our Library as the “heartbeat of the community” and “cultural epicenter of the town.”
