SUMMER PROGRAMS

2025 Summer Programs

Explore our dynamic lineup of summer programs for children, teens, and adults.

MPL Discovery Summer Camp

Picture
Marathon Public Library’s Discovery Summer Camp is a dynamic two-week experience designed to engage young minds through art, STEM, and reading. This free program helps prevent summer learning loss while providing fun, hands-on opportunities for creativity, critical thinking, and exploration — all in a supportive, educational environment.
Campers will rotate through three main components:
  • Art: With no art classes offered to secondary students at Marathon ISD, this program fills an important gap. Students will explore various artistic techniques and develop their unique creative voices.
  • Camp Curiosity: These engaging sessions pair STEM-focused learning with literature to inspire curiosity and innovation. Campers will ask big questions, conduct experiments, and explore science and engineering in action.
  • Summer Reading Program: Based on the 2025 theme Color Our World, this program encourages reading through storytime, imaginative play, and skill-building activities. It helps fight the “summer slide,” particularly for low-income students, by keeping kids connected to books and learning. As part of this program, all MISD students and teachers also receive the school supplies they need to start the year strong — easing the financial burden on families and educators.

    Details:
    June 9–20, Monday - Friday
    1:00–5:00 p.m.
    Grades PK4–8th (grade completed)

MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE

Picture
With makeup applied, costumes on, and butterflies in their nervous bellies, Marathon students become stars as they take the stage to perform “The Emperor’s New Clothes” presented by Missoula Children’s Theatre. In just one week, students have auditioned, rehearsed, and participated in acting workshops in preparation for the big community performance. Even shy and reluctant children break those barriers as they take on the role of their characters while building critical life skills – teamwork, confidence, and effective communication.

Marathon ISD does not offer theatre classes, this program allows the children in our community to experience performing arts.
